2016 In Gaming

It’s going to be a big year.

2015 was no small year in gaming, that’s for sure. From smash indie hits to AAA next gen titles starting to find their groove, we had a lot to play and experience in 2015. So how is 2016 stacking up so far? Let’s have a look at some of the biggest titles set for release this year, here are our top ten titles for 2016 so far :

10. Uncharted 4

Announced via a teaser in November 2013 long time fans have been waiting a while for this one. We have to admit that we’re also excited to see what Nathan Drake get’s up to in this (probably) final instance in the series.

9. Mass Effect Andromeda

Announced during E3 2015 and only this high up on our list due to a lack of info on the game itself at this time. It’s hard not to be interested in what bioware is going to do after Shepherd. Andromeda will be the first completely new installment in the Mass Effect Universe to not include the iconic commander Shepherd.

8. Tom Clancy’s: The Division

Had you asked us to make this list right after E3 2013 The Division would have no doubt been at number 1. As with almost any title however, as the time to release grows nearer and all the small mysteries have been solved our excitement tends to dwindle. Don’t get us wrong, we’re still plenty excited for this title, just slightly less so than we we’re initially.

7. Overwatch

Blizzcon 2014 showed us a trailer that you probably thought was a pixar movie at first, and we don’t blame you. As with most things Blizzard, this beautiful and engaging trailer would turn out to be almost nothing like the actual title it is connected to. This however, does not mean that we are not very excited for the title it’s connected to none-the-less. Blizzard makes some of the most wonderfully addictive games around and we expect Overwatch to be no different. Will this be another great competitive title for Blizzard? We’ll have to wait and see. We can’t help but think of the great times spent in titles like TimeSplitters 2 when playing overwatch.

6. DOOM

After so many years of being stuck in development limbo, it’s hard to imagine any gamer that wasn’t excited after watching the short teaser at E3 2014. Having seemingly a much faster pace that it’s predecessor DOOM is looking good for one of our favorite fps’s of 2016.

5. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

The first Deus Ex games no doubt made a memorable impression on many young gamers, how Mankind Divided will stack up remains to be seen but none-the-less, we’re excited.

4.Mirror’s Edge : Catalyst

With a couple of years in between Mirror’s Edge and Catalyst, we can’t wait to see what Faith is up to. The game that redefined the free running game genre is finally on it’s way back.

3.The Last Guardian

With delays becoming more regular in the gaming industry we’re not even sure we’re going to see The Last Guardian this year, even so, we would be happy with even some more trailers and gameplay. With more years in development than most games we can’t wait to see this one up and running.

2.Horizon : Zero Dawn

Developer Guerrilla Games sure got the blood boiling when it released the first trailer for this beautiful,  story driven tale. With so many new IP’s to choose from in 2016 this one certainly caught our attention.

Final-Fantasy-XV-TGS-2014-3

1. Final Fantasy XV

It’s been nearly 7 years since the last numeric title in the Final Fantasy series. And absence has surely made the heart grow fonder in this case. With every bit we see of Final Fantasy XV we get more and more excited.
